WHO WE ARE
Hawthorne Utility Management, LLC (HUM) operates the City of Hawthorne's water system under a long-term Operations and Services Agreement with the City. While the City continues to own the water infrastructure, HUM is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and customer service that keeps the system running efficiently. Our experienced team is committed to providing dependable service, maintaining high operational standards, and ensuring residents receive safe, reliable drinking water every day.
OUR ROLE
The City of Hawthorne retains ownership of the water system and maintains authority over water rates through its independent Proposition 218 rate-setting process. Hawthorne Utility Management is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the system, including maintenance, customer support, billing services, emergency response, and regulatory compliance. Together, we work to provide efficient, reliable water service for the community.
